DAY 31: Holy Spirit Rain Down

Intention:
Thanking God for the rain that has fallen in the natural but continuing to pray for the rain of the Holy Spirit to fall on our nation.

Scripture:
“You heavens above, rain down my righteousness; let the clouds shower it down. Let the earth open wide, let salvation spring up, let righteousness flourish with it; I, the Lord, have created it.” (Isaiah 45:8)

Reflection:
Thank you for your commitment to prayer, repentance and fasting through the month of October. No prayer is wasted. We catch a glimpse of how God values our prayers in Revelation 5:8 where there are “golden bowls filled with incense which are the prayers of God’s people”. David says in Psalm 142, “May my prayer be set before you like incense”. God loves it when we pray.

We would like to thank our Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ for inspiring us to pray and fast through October. Your input in the devotions has been amazing. We are all richer for your leadership and input. We need each other and that is true more than we can possibly imagine.

The team at the Canberra Declaration are committed to continue to make a stand for Life, Marriage, Family, Freedom and Faith. More than ever we are committed to praying for these issues. We have realised that unless we pray, we will achieve nothing. Abraham Lincoln’s eloquence inspires us all, “I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go”.

With each of the 31 Devotions we have presented a YouTube video. As the devotions have had a great variety, so have the videos.

We are also deeply thankful for Prime Minister, Scott Morrison’s call to pray for rain to end the drought. No doubt you would realise that this is one of our October prayer points – an AWAKENING to rain. Whilst the drought is not yet broken, almost as much rain has fallen for the month of October in Eastern Australia as the previous three months. Let us be thankful and pray that it continues and multiplies. More than that, we pray for an inundation of the Spirit of God across, “our dry and thirsty land where there is no water”.

Jesus said in John 7:38, “Out of your belly shall flow rivers of living water”. That is our prayer on this last day of the AWAKENING Prayer Call.

Prayer:
The scripture says in Psalm 72:6, “May he be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth”. We join with the prophets and cry out for both the latter rain and the former rain to fall together. Lord pour out your Holy Spirit on our nation that there might be an AWAKENING to Christ so that millions will find salvation and be born again. We pray also for an AWAKENING for marriage and family. In Jesus name, Amen.
