Scott Morrison is finding himself in the same position as Tony Abbott

Scott Morrison is finding himself in the same position as Tony Abbott.
Big sections of the media want him gone, and it’s ugly.
Nothing he does will be good enough. Every step, every word, every act, will be ridiculed, contemptible, broadcast in the most critical light, and the anti-ScoMo narrative will build steam, relentlessly.
He visits fire-ravaged communities, he’s a shameless self-promoter. He stays away, he’s a useless leader.
He gets accused of doing nothing, so he puts out a social media video explaining what the government is doing, and he’s derided globally as tone-deaf and insensitive for “advertising.”
He goes on a holiday with his family which he cuts short, so he’s done the worst thing imaginable.
Meanwhile, the QLD Premier is on a cruise and the NSW Emergency Services Minister is in Europe – not a peep about them.
If Australia were wiped off the face of the earth for 100 years, not a jot of difference would be made to the climate, but he has blood on his hands because his climate change policies of the past 12 months aren’t radical enough.
And somehow, it’s all his fault… This one man apparently has the power of God, to wreak destruction upon the nation, or at least to snap his fingers and fix it all up like it never happened… so people who throw abuse at him are championed.
None of this is levelled at him because he has done wrong — it’s just because his politics are the wrong colour, and his creed is Christian.
Tony Abbott had the same problem, until they finally finished him. He wound up stumbling over every single word that came out of his mouth, such were his efforts to guard against their misrepresentation and abuse.
Unfortunately, our politicians continue to be affected heavily by a feral media. They try to explain themselves, modify their language, change tack, become nervous and risk-averse, anything to fold up into the little box the media are building for them.
I’ve noticed ScoMo is struggling with his words at times, and that’s new. He’s filtering, second-guessing, adapting.
But take some counsel from Jesus — it’s just pearls before swine. It matters not what you say or do, they will take it and tear you to shreds with it (Matt. 7).
Trump has been clever in this respect — he disarmed the media by calling them out. He refused to play their games, refused to speak and act like they wanted him to, refused to even talk with them… and he told America what many Australians also know — segments of the media are just plain corrupt.
By “corrupt” I mean this: they do not care for the truth. They use their combined influence on “the narrative” as a political power tool, regardless of the lies they must tell in the process.
“Truth has stumbled in the public squares…” (Isa 59:14)
If I were in the Prime Minister’s seat, I like to think I’d name it for what it is. Time to break this game up and send the swine back to their sty.
But in the absence of being able to acheive any of the above, I’ll keep praying for him.

Well said
You are so right
How right you are and the majority of comments on Facebook are the same as me, agree with you. I will never understand how the Tax Payers Media Representative being the ABC (print and electronic) can have their own Political output without the Government pulling them in to line for not being neutral in their output. They should be declared a Political Party be self funded then you will see how quickly they will be removed or come back to the Tax Payers and sing for their supper. Unfortunately the only supper served up would be their last supper
Absolutely agree. Lets up the prayers and those who can, let ScoMo know
Totally agree .Thanks for sharing.
Totally agree with you. Scott Morrison is a good man.
Totally disagree. We have been warned 20 plus years ago climate was changing. Take time to read The Weather Makers Tim Flannery pretty much word for word his predictions are happening plus many other scientests David Attenborough and it goes on. We need to change and change fast. Don’t blame the press. If Scomo can’t lead us in changing times find someone who can . It’s not personal we need somebody who can lead Cheers
What’s the point of Australia doing anything about climate change and spending all our money on it – have you been to China lately !!!!!? You can’t breathe in most big cities there and what are they doing – nothing so our country which had little many manufacturing and very few people aren’t going to make one iota of difference to the pollution. Our main concern is the amount of fuel or undergrowth that has built up over the years in our bush land because the do Gooders have put so much red tape in the way of letting people clean up there land to prevent such bushfires. The aboriginals have been doing this for eons but no we know it all apparently!!
The country has only backburned 1% of bush land and then when the major bushfires start they start to Blackburn isn very hazardous conditions. I know they did this in our town and it could have been disastrous if the winds had changed. So yes the media need to get there facts straight and the young ones need to be better informed about what’s really causing our problems. They don’t have enough infrastructure before they build more estates and we need to put large firebreaks around communities that are surrounded by bush land.
Great piece. I shall send him a message on his facebook page immediately. He needs to know there are plenty of people on his side and we need to lift him up.
I’ve just stumbled upon this blog and it’s really good. I wish I could send this one to Scott Morrison to encourage him in some way.
