Seven Reasons Why I Like Trump — Especially His Passion for the Unborn
Before I give my seven reasons, let me share four things from my background to give you context for my comments.
Firstly, I am a Minister of the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and have been actively engaged as such for the last thirty years. Few know this, but I don’t make a big thing of it quite deliberately. I figure if you can’t see it in me, it does not mean very much!
I came to Christ 51 years ago after listening to a TV broadcast of Billy Graham preaching at a crusade here in Australia in 1969. I love the Bible and believe the Bible to be the word of God. I would agree with Billy Graham when he quotes Romans 3:4,
“Let God be true and every man a liar.”
Secondly, my political background as a young man was as a left-wing radical. I almost was arrested on the streets of Sydney during the Moratorium antiwar demonstrations, such was my zeal for the far-left cause. Even in the eighties I was a member of the BWIU, one of the most radical left-wing unions in the nation at the time. Like John Wesley once said,
“The poor I love; the rich I put up with.”
Thirdly, my work background is in the construction industry. I am used to working with men of all shapes and sizes. Construction is a pretty rough and tumble world at the best of times. Put simply, you won’t survive if you are a shrinking violet.
Fourthly, a lot of my ministry work has been with what many would call the dregs of society. I love the dregs. Maybe it is because I am a dreg myself? In the late eighties, we had a young man living with our family of young children, whom you would call a homosexual drug addict with AIDS. To me, he was a friend of the family.
John (Not his real name) had worked the wall in Darlinghurst in Sydney. Suffice to say, he was a male prostitute. If you think being a female prostitute is bad, try becoming a male prostitute. You have to be full of drugs to get through a night’s work.
Shortly after John left us, we had an ex-con come and live with our family whose name was Bill (his real name). He was also a recovering drug addict with the best intentions, who struggled to be free. Bill started taking drugs again and sadly had to move out. Eventually his struggle with drugs ended unsuccessfully and he died violently on the streets of Wollongong. When you are on the bottom end of the societal ladder, life can be pretty brutal.
All this experience served me well for ten years of prison ministry through music. I have had better church meetings inside jail with a mob of convicted criminals than I have sometimes had in the finest of churches.
The scripture says, “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God”. Nowhere is this more true or more widely acknowledged than in a jail. And yet some of the most beautiful people I have ever met have been those same convicted criminals inside those jails. In Warwick’s vernacular, I call them “honest criminals.”
“Warwick,” you say, “How can you like Donald Trump and be a Christian?! Trump has been married several times and has been known to have lived a ‘fast life.’ He is a tough businessman from the Bronx who has been known to lie and cheat. So how can you, a credentialed minister of the Gospel, love Donald Trump?”
I love Donald Trump the same way I love Rahab the prostitute. Let me share with you from Joshua 2:1–21, which is the story of Rahab the prostitute.
Then Joshua son of Nun secretly sent two spies from Shittim. “Go, look over the land,” he said, “especially Jericho.” So they went and entered the house of a prostitute named Rahab and stayed there.
The king of Jericho was told, “Look, some of the Israelites have come here tonight to spy out the land.” So the king of Jericho sent this message to Rahab: “Bring out the men who came to you and entered your house, because they have come to spy out the whole land.”
But the woman had taken the two men and hidden them. She said, “Yes, the men came to me, but I did not know where they had come from. At dusk, when it was time to close the city gate, they left. I don’t know which way they went. Go after them quickly. You may catch up with them.” (But she had taken them up to the roof and hidden them under the stalks of flax she had laid out on the roof.) So the men set out in pursuit of the spies on the road that leads to the fords of the Jordan, and as soon as the pursuers had gone out, the gate was shut.
Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. We have heard how the Lord dried up the water of the Red Sea a for you when you came out of Egypt, and what you did to Sihon and Og, the two kings of the Amorites east of the Jordan, whom you completely destroyed. When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear and everyone’s courage failed because of you, for the Lord your God is God in Heaven above and on the earth below.
“Now then, please swear to me by the Lord that you will show kindness to my family, because I have shown kindness to you. Give me a sure sign that you will spare the lives of my father and mother, my brothers and sisters, and all who belong to them — and that you will save us from death.”
“Our lives for your lives!” the men assured her. “If you don’t tell what we are doing, we will treat you kindly and faithfully when the Lord gives us the land.”
So she let them down by a rope through the window, for the house she lived in was part of the city wall. She said to them, “Go to the hills so the pursuers will not find you. Hide yourselves there three days until they return, and then go on your way.”
Now the men had said to her, “This oath you made us swear will not be binding on us unless, when we enter the land, you have tied this scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down, and unless you have brought your father and mother, your brothers and all your family into your house. If any of them go outside your house into the street, their blood will be on their own heads; we will not be responsible. As for those who are in the house with you, their blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on them. But if you tell what we are doing, we will be released from the oath you made us swear.”
“Agreed,” she replied. “Let it be as you say.”
So she sent them away, and they departed. And she tied the scarlet cord in the window.
Rahab was a woman of ill-repute, but she is recorded in Hebrews chapter 11 as a hero of the faith with other heroes of the faith like Abraham, Moses and King David. James, Jesus’ brother, also records the actions of Rahab. James 2:25 says,
“In the same way, was not even Rahab the prostitute justified by her actions when she welcomed the messengers and sent them off on another route?”
The red cloth in the window was a prophetic example of the blood of a future Saviour who welcomed a thief into His Kingdom as they both died on the cross. Such was the love of Jesus Christ!
The bad news is man looks at the outward appearance, but the good news is God looks at the heart. If it was up to me, I would not have listed a harlot as a hero of the faith, but God saw something in Rahab He liked. I cannot help but feel God has the same opinion of Donald Trump.
So here are my seven reasons I like Donald Trump.
Firstly, Trump is a wheeler and dealer, but he also has a long history of being generous. I like that in a man. Liz Crokin, in an article titled “Trump Does the Unthinkable“, tells the story well.
As an entertainment journalist, I’ve had the opportunity to cover Trump for over a decade, and in all my years covering him I’ve never heard anything negative about the man until he announced he was running for president. Keep in mind, I got paid a lot of money to dig up dirt on celebrities like Trump for a living so a scandalous story on the famous billionaire could’ve potentially sold a lot of magazines and would’ve been a huge feather in my cap.
Instead, I found that he doesn’t drink alcohol or do drugs, he’s a hardworking businessman. On top of that, he’s one of the most generous celebrities in the world with a heart filled with more gold than his $100 million New York penthouse.
Since the media has failed so miserably at reporting the truth about Trump, I decided to put together some of the acts of kindness he’s committed over three decades which has gone virtually unnoticed or fallen on deaf ears.
In 1986, Trump prevented the foreclosure of Annabell Hill’s family farm after her husband committed suicide. Trump personally phoned down to the auction to stop the sale of her home and offered the widow money. Trump decided to take action after he saw Hill’s pleas for help in news reports.
In 1988, a commercial airline refused to fly Andrew Ten, a sick Orthodox Jewish child with a rare illness, across the country to get medical care because he had to travel with an elaborate life-support system. His grief-stricken parents contacted Trump for help and he didn’t hesitate to send his own plane to take the child from Los Angeles to New York so he could get his treatment.
In 1991, 200 Marines who served in Operation Desert Storm spent time at Camp Lejune in North Carolina before they were scheduled to return home to their families. However, the Marines were told that a mistake had been made and an aircraft would not be able to take them home on their scheduled departure date. When Trump got wind of this, he sent his plane to make two trips from North Carolina to Miami to safely return the Gulf War Marines to their loved ones.
In 1995, a motorist stopped to help Trump after the limo he was traveling in got a flat tire. Trump asked the Good Samaritan how he could repay him for his help. All the man asked for was a bouquet of flowers for his wife. A few weeks later Trump sent the flowers with a note that read: “We’ve paid off your mortgage.”
In 1996, Trump filed a lawsuit against the city of Palm Beach, Florida, accusing the town of discriminating against his Mar-a-Lago resort club because it allowed Jews and blacks. Abraham Foxman, who as the Anti-Defamation League Director at the time, said Trump put the light on Palm Beach not on the beauty and the glitter, but on its seamier side of discrimination. Foxman also noted that Trump’s charge had a trickle-down effect because other clubs followed his lead and began admitting Jews and blacks.
In 2000, Maury Povich featured a little girl named Megan who struggled with Brittle Bone Disease on his show and Trump happened to be watching. Trump said the little girl’s story and positive attitude touched his heart. So he contacted Maury and gifted the little girl and her family with a very generous check.
In 2008, after Jennifer Hudson’s family members were tragically murdered in Chicago, Trump put the Oscar-winning actress and her family up at his Windy City hotel for free. In addition to that, Trump’s security took extra measures to ensure Hudson and her family members were safe during such a difficult time.
In 2013, New York bus driver Darnell Barton spotted a woman close to the edge of a bridge staring at the traffic below as he drove by. He stopped the bus, got out and put his arm around the woman and saved her life by convincing her to not jump. When Trump heard about this story, he sent the hero bus driver a check simply because he believed his good deed deserved to be rewarded.
In 2014, Trump gave $25,000 to Sgt. Andrew Tamoressi after he spent seven months in a Mexican jail for accidentally crossing the US-Mexico border. President Barack Obama could not even be bothered to make one phone call to assist with the United States Marine’s release; however, Trump opened his pocketbook to help this serviceman get back on his feet.
In 2016, Melissa Consin Young attended a Trump rally and tearfully thanked Trump for changing her life. She said she proudly stood on stage with Trump as Miss Wisconsin USA in 2005. However, years later she found herself struggling with an incurable illness and during her darkest days, she explained that she received a handwritten letter from Trump telling her she’s the bravest woman, I know. She said the opportunities that she got from Trump and his organizations ultimately provided her Mexican-American son with a full-ride to college.
Lynne Patton, a black female executive for the Trump Organization, released a statement in 2016 defending her boss against accusations that he’s a racist and a bigot. She tearfully revealed how she’s struggled with substance abuse and addiction for years. Instead of kicking her to the curb, she said the Trump Organization and his entire family loyally stood by her through immensely difficult times.
Secondly, Trump wants to help the poor. A lot of people say, “You are crazy, Warwick. That is ridiculous.” Well, you can give a man a fish or you can teach him to fish. Which is better? Government handouts or jobs where people earn a real income? Real jobs with real dignity are always better than sit-down money.
According to FactCheck, President Trump has been able to preside over the lowest unemployment rates for 50 years. Trump is bringing jobs back from overseas to the USA. Poor blacks and Hispanics have benefited the most. Normally, this would result in ticker-tape parades and marching bands for any normal US President with an appearance on the front cover of Time Magazine as man of the year. Sadly, with the mainstream media’s Trump Derangement Syndrome, this will never be.
Thirdly, Trump has a deep affection for the USA black community. This article by black activist/journalist Gianno Caldwell called “How Trump — not Biden — has helped make black lives better” sums it up well:
“I celebrated this New Year’s Eve in Ghana, Africa. I’d grown up poor with a mom addicted to drugs, but started this decade far from the South Side of Chicago and amongst some of the most “elite” black people in the world…
Back home in the US, African Americans were experiencing the best economy we have ever seen: Unemployment for our racial group was the lowest in recorded history, black wages were rapidly increasing for the first time in decades, and people who’d been out of work long-term were being hired and suddenly able to take their families on vacations for the first time in years…
I personally do not agree with everything President Trump says or does, and I often find myself on national TV as a conservative pundit saying exactly that. But I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that Trump has been one of the most impactful presidents for African Americans from a policy perspective — and that’s what matters.
His recent police-reform executive order, the First Step Act, released thousands of people from jail (90 percent of whom were black). He has promoted “opportunity zones” that incentivized private investment into marginalized communities, and also increased federal funding to historically black colleges and universities by 17 percent — a total exceeding $100 million, more than any president in history.
Meanwhile, the Obama administration infamously removed a two-year Bush-administration program that annually funded $85 million directly to these prized institutions.
As I mention in my book, Taken For Granted, during the 2016 election Trump did something few Republicans had the courage to do — he targeted the black vote and spoke directly to African-American issues…
President Trump and Republicans have delivered for the black community on tangible policies that have had a positive impact — something the Democrats never achieved.
Trump needs to remind African Americans about what he has accomplished and contrast it with Biden’s record of failure, mass incarceration and racially charged language. I often say black lives don’t matter to Democrats, black votes matter to them. And that party’s lack of targeted policies benefiting African Americans proves just how much they take their votes for granted.”
You might think that Gianno is an outlier in her positive assessment of Trump. In that case, you need to check out Candace Owens, America’s greatest black conservative. Mark Kimmel’s comments also cut to the quick! I could name a hundred more black leaders who positively love Trump, but I will not bore you.
Fourthly, Trump is NOT a politician. I had swallowed the Australian mainstream media narrative in 2016 that Trump was a narcissistic megalomaniac madman. Then he won the election and so I watched him give his acceptance speech. Watch the full acceptance speech here. Trump gave credit to everybody in his family and his team in a way that I had NEVER seen a politician do in my lifetime. I was dumbfounded! The Marxist media had played me for a useful idiot. Never again, I vowed!
I have watched him time and time again in his unscripted moments. I keep asking myself why am I so drawn to him. Yes, he has this towering ego and self-belief, and yet at the same time he has this staggering humility. It is such a strange mixture.
Trump is a classic New Yorker. They all have a strong self-belief bordering on rudeness. Trump has spent a lot of time in the Jewish quarter of New York, which is even more point-blank. A lot of people don’t get his humour, as fellow New Yorker Austin Ruse points out.
The one thing you get from watching Trump talk is, what you see is what you get. In a world of plastic manufactured politics, it is refreshingly original, to say the least!
Fifth, Trump has achieved so much in his four-year term. The list of accomplishments is absolutely astounding. Journalist Oliver Wyman gives some great insights in an interview titled “Why Victor Davis Hanson Thinks Trump Will Win”:
To those who see an intellectual case for Donald Trump as a contradiction in terms, Victor Davis Hanson is an unlikely figure.
A senior fellow at Stanford’s Hoover Institution, Dr Hanson was awarded the National Humanities Medal by George W Bush in 2007. He is the author of more than 20 books on classics, military history and more. When he isn’t writing or teaching, he’s managing his family’s farm. Dr Hanson is also a full-throated and unapologetic supporter of the president. Last year, Dr Hanson published The Case for Trump, a coherent and thoughtful argument for an often incoherent and thoughtless president.
Question by Oliver Wyman: You supported the president four years ago, as I understand it, and you support him in this election, obviously. How do those two cases for Trump differ? How does the 2016 case for Trump compare to the 2020 case for Trump?
Professor Victor Davis Hanson: The most important thing is that most politicians in the Western world lie. And so when Donald Trump said, “I’m going to build a wall with Mexico, and I’m going to take on China, I’m going to bring jobs back to the de-industrialised Midwest, I’m going to avoid optional military engagements in the Middle East, I’m going to put my foot on the accelerator of gas and oil production, I’m going to get the most conservative judges you can imagine” everybody thought, you know, this is Manhattan real estate talk.
But then when he got in, not only did he start doing that, but the forces arrayed against him. And, I should note, they were bipartisan. I mean, we had, almost immediately, talk of articles of impeachment, and then there was a move to declare him crazy under the 25th amendment, than the Emoluments Clause, then the Logan Act, and then 22 months of the Mueller Russia hoax, and then the impeachment. So it showed you that there was a lot of opposition to him, because he kept his promises.
Now he’s running as an incumbent, Joe Biden is not saying “he didn’t build a wall”, or “I want to put that embassy back in Tel Aviv”, or “I’m going to go back to the Obama position on China”, or “I think those NATO members should pay what they want; they don’t have to meet the 2 per cent commitment”. That’s different. So there is a grudging consensus that whatever you think of him, he’s really kept most of the promises. He has absolutely recalibrated the entire American judiciary with his appointments.
Number six on the list is, Trump is an amazing advocate for the Christian faith in his own broken and unique way. My good friend and fellow writer at the Daily Declaration Kurt Mahlburg said in his article titled, “Donald Trump: ‘Jesus Christ More Famous Than Me’”:
Speaking of the threat of the coronavirus, Trump remarked,
‘You can do everything you want, but you know, you still need help from the boss… Yeah, we need help. It’s alright to say it. Now they’ll criticise me for that: ‘How dare he say that!’ … Nah, I’ll say it…
Somebody said to me the other day, ‘You’re the most famous person in the world by far’. I said, ‘No, I’m not.’ … They said, ‘Who’s more famous?’ I said, ‘Jesus Christ’…’In terms of Donald Trump’s spiritual heritage, his family traces their roots back to the Hebrides revival in 1950s Scotland. He was raised and confirmed in the Presbyterian Church and has shared that his parents “taught me the importance of faith and prayer from a young age.”
In more recent years, Trump has begun to identify as a “non-denominational” Christian — a term often used by Americans to denote a big-tent evangelical-charismatic faith common to larger churches.
President Trump has welcomed pastors, worship leaders and other Christian leaders into the White House to hold “faith briefings”, and is known to allow worship services to take place within its walls — something very unusual for a president in modern times.I had the opportunity to personally meet with former Kansas Governor Sam Brownback, who is now part of the Trump administration in the role of Ambassador at Large for International Religious Freedom. Brownback explained to me that Donald Trump is a man with a deep respect for religious faith, and that he has surrounded himself with more Christian believers than any recent president…
In defiance of unfounded accusations that he is a racist, Donald Trump has worked hard with the Black community, breaking records for Black unemployment, funding historically Black colleges, and prioritising prison reform. If the polls for the upcoming election are accurate, Trump may win the highest Black vote of any Republican in decades.
All of this Trump has achieved at considerable financial loss to himself. He has seen his personal empire devalued by $1 billion during this time, and has chosen to donate his quarterly $100,000 salary to charities helping the sick, veterans, farmers and children.
Yes, Trump has no filter when he tweets, and he has a big, boastful mouth to match. But much of his conduct — at least in terms of what he has achieved for everyday Americans and for those most in need — is credibly Christian. And arguably, it is the very characteristic that so many dislike about him — his take-no-prisoners bullishness — that has enabled him to advance Christian causes with no care for the vitriol of his critics.
Trump is no poster-boy for Jesus. And who really knows where his heart is at? But he has provided more than a few reasons to be taken seriously in his fumbling attempts to follow Jesus.
Again I quote from another article from Kurt Mahlburg titled, “Trump’s Surprising Stand for Christian Values”:
“It’s an interesting time to be living in America. I’ve just spent the week before last in Washington, DC, where I had the opportunity to attend the Values Voter Summit — one of the biggest annual gatherings of Christians standing for freedom, faith, family and life…
From across the Pacific, we Aussies often have the impression that American Christians form a neat line behind any Republican that makes it to the White House. But as I spoke with people over the weekend, I was struck by their measured response to Trump.
To the surprise of many, Trump’s two most senior appointments have been unashamed evangelical Christians — Mike Pence as Vice President and Mike Pompeo as Secretary of State.
Trump has made religious freedom a signature issue of his administration. He created the position of International Ambassador for Religious Freedom, appointing another outspoken Christian to the role in Sam Brownback, whom I had the honour of meeting with earlier this year.
In July this year, at Brownback’s request, the president welcomed victims of religious persecution from many nations to the Oval Office to hear their stories.
Following this, Trump held a special meeting at the UN in which he called other nations to stand with America to protect religious freedom around the world, pledging US$25 million to the cause.
During his speech, he declared that America is “founded on the principle that our rights do not come from government — they come from God,” adding that, “this immortal truth is proclaimed in our Declaration of Independence and enshrined in the First Amendment.”
For decades, American presidents have pledged to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital but then backed out under pressure. Trump broke with precedent to fulfil this long-standing desire of many Jewish and Christian groups and confirmed it by relocating the US embassy to Jerusalem.
For this reason, he has been likened to King Cyrus by Jews and Christians alike — a mysterious Persian ruler who was used by God to protect His people and advance their cause…
The list could go on. Mat Staver, president of the Christian legal group Liberty Counsel, estimates that Donald Trump has fulfilled around 90% of the requests put to him by Christian groups. Staver has dubbed him “the most pro-religious freedom and pro-life president in modern history”.
As I lined up waiting to be scanned by Secret Service on my way into the Presidential address, I spoke with a Christian couple who gave an insightful assessment of Trump.
They likened him to another Old Testament pagan ruler — King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, who had something of a spiritual awakening mid-reign to become an unlikely advocate for a God he’d spent his life ignoring.
The prayer of many Christians is that Trump’s awakening would go beyond political advocacy for a certain stream of Christian values, to a personal transformation.
In the meantime, discerning Christians, American and otherwise, will continue to draw clear lines between the Trump policies they support and the Trump personality traits they disdain.
But when it comes to traditional Christian values, they’ve found a most unexpected ally.”
The seventh reason and the most important reason I like Donald Trump is his stand for the unborn. The Ten Commandments are the centerpiece of the Old Testament and the foundation for the new. The sixth Commandment is very clear: “Thou shalt not kill.” The shedding of innocent blood in the Old Testament is an item of even greater condemnation.
Every adult has a voice and can fight back, but the unborn have no voice. The killing of babies through abortion is the ultimate in the shedding of innocent blood. As Phil Keaggy sang in his song Who Will Speak Up for the Little Ones: “I have got to speak up. Won’t you?”
Teeshan Johnson, the Director of Cherish Life in Queensland, articulates in her great article, “Will Trump Be the Unlikely Hero Who Will End Abortion?” what the Trump administration has done for Life in its almost four-year term. This was written at the March for The Babies in Washington DC in January 2020.
The air is electric before the President of the United States takes to the stage at the 47th annual National March for Life. The vibrant and predominantly young crowd of more than 250,000 can hardly stand still because of the sheer excitement, myself included.
President Trump appears on stage while God Bless America plays, and he paces around with the kind of smile and swagger that few can carry off. We all madly clap and cheer, seemingly besotted by this playboy billionaire turned pro-life, and reportedly God-fearing, President.
Even before he even utters a syllable, we love him. The fact he is there as the first President to attend the march in person, has automatically earned him pro-life royalty status.
And then there’s the 6 home runs he’s hit for life since taking office:
-
Judicial appointments. He has appointed 187 conservative / pro-life judges to federal courts, including 2 to the Supreme Court (which is crucial to overturn Roe v Wade and other abortion cases). These appointments are expected to make a generational difference for the pro-life cause.
-
Government fetal tissue research ban: The Government has ended the practice of fetal research using tissue from from elective abortions.
-
Defunding Planned Parenthood: Through legislative changes, the Trump administration has cut off access by Planned Parenthood (the nation’s biggest abortion provider) and other abortion providers to $286 million of government funding.
-
Mexico City Policy: During his first week in government, Trump reinstated this policy which prevents US foreign aid being used to subsidise organisations that provide abortions overseas. Trump has extended this policy further again, so restrictions also apply to organisations that promote abortion.
-
Strong conscientious objection rights for healthcare professionals: Creating comprehensive legislation for full conscientious objection rights to abortion for healthcare professionals. Previously, there were 30 different different pieces of legislation covering the right of health professionals to conscientious objection, and there were gaps, a lack of clarity and concerns by doctors who object to being involved with abortion, that they weren’t properly covered.
-
Obamacare abortion transparency: Whenever Obamacare is used for procuring an abortion, the Trump administration has mandated that it must be made clear, through the issuing of two bills by the doctor — one for medical care for the woman, and the other for performing the abortion. Previously under Obamacare, abortions were hidden as “medical care”.
Steven Ertelt, in a recent article on LifeNews titled, “Christians Should Vote for President Trump, He’s the Most Pro-Life President in History”, warned about the American elections on 3 November:
Liberal activists are making a last-ditch effort to try to falsely persuade Christian voters to support Joe Biden, even though he has a lifelong history of supporting abortion.
While Biden supports abortion on demand up to birth and would force Christians to fund abortions, President Donald Trump has compiled a sterling pro-life record. When it comes to Christian issues, he has gone above and beyond to protect pro-life Christians from funding abortions and protected Christian medical professionals from being forced to participate in killing babies in abortions.
In a new op-ed at Christian Post, Ryan Helfenbein of Liberty University talks about the pro-life record President Trump has put together during his first term:
‘President Trump is the most pro-life president in history. With the confirmation of Amy Coney Barrett, the President has now placed 3 conservative on the Supreme Court and appointed over 200 federal judges who are right-leaning, pro-life, constitutionalist judges.
He was the first sitting president to ever attend the annual March for Life. Trump has sought to defund Planned Parenthood; reformed Title X funds to no longer fund abortion facilities; reinstituted the Mexico City policy, which prevents federal funding for private abortion providers; and ceased funding for the United Nations Population Fund, which “supports, or participates in the management of, a program of coercive abortion or involuntary sterilization.”
These are just a few of Trump’s pro-life policies and accomplishments in just three and half years. Biden and the Democrats, however, support taxpayer-funded abortion on demand with virtually no restrictions, including up to the moment just before birth. This a bloodstained curse upon our country and should by no means be treated with moral equivalency.’
Helfenbein also reminded readers that President Trump has been a champion for religious liberty issues.
‘President Trump signed an executive order in his first few months of office, protecting both free speech and religious liberty. Attorney General Bill Barr has also worked to protect churches and religious groups during Covid-19 who have been unfairly targeted.
By contrast, the Obama administration with Joe Biden, waged war on religious liberty going after organizations like the Little Sisters of the Poor for refusing to provide contraceptives to employees, including the Plan B abortion pill — a clear violation of religious conviction and liberty. The Trump administration, however, promptly created an exemption to protect the religious groups from this mandate.’
He closes his piece this way:
‘In 2020, Christians have no moral dilemma except that of their own making. This is not a time for foolish pride, moral obfuscation or aesthetic spiritual nonsense. These challenges are real but the choice is simple. This is a time for choosing.
I choose life, faith and freedom. I choose President Trump.’
The Christian author is right — President Trump had no record to run on in 2016 so some Christians were reluctant to support him. But after four years, President Trump has gone into bat for the pro-life cause time and time again. In fact, here’s the top 13 things President Trump has done for the pro-life movement. And that’s why he deserves our vote.”
Summary: Seven Reasons why I like Trump
I liken the current genocide of babies in abortion in America and Australia today to the systematic murder of Europe’s 6 million Jews by Adolf Hitler during the second world war. You might disagree with my first six reasons for liking Donald Trump, but if you were getting wheeled in on a trolley to the Auschwitz gas chambers, I am sure you would be happy for any man to stop your trolley and tell the attendant. “I am looking after this one, thank you very much!” Then wheel you away to freedom and a LIFE well-lived!
It would not matter to you if that man’s name was John Smith or Donald Trump. Either way, you would be very, very thankful. On that point, we can both agree!
POST SCRIPT 1: This post script is written and inserted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, 4 November 2020 as the voting finishes in the west coast of the USA — While I was writing this article, I was trying to Google articles I had seen months ago which I knew existed. I might choose a search term “great achievements of President Trump over last 4 years”, but instead of great achievements, the search list would be flooded with long lists of articles about all the so-called negative things Trump had done. Remember, I knew the articles I was looking for, but they could not be found on Google. These biased anti-Trump search lists would come up no matter the subject on anything I did for a Trump search. Not to mention the fact that several conservative sites like LifeSiteNews were just blocked. The digital stranglehold by Big Tech Silicon Valley oligarchy against the conservative/Christian worldview is horrific. I eventually had to use the Duck Duck Go search engine to find the articles I wanted. That was only marginally better, but at least I found them.
I was chatting about my article with a friend. He said, “You have left out Courage as one of his strengths.” I agree. If Trump wins the Presidential Election today, he needs to be congratulated for his Courage, as he is up against almost everyone in the USA and the world. Trump is up against the Democrats, those in his own party (Republicans) who hate him, Google, Facebook, Twitter, Big Tech, Big Business, big government (The Swamp), Antifa, Hollywood, Fake News, 95% of Mainstream Media, CNN, MSNBC, CBS, PBS, COMCAST, NetFlix, big celebrities, music industry, China, Russia, NATO, the United Nations and the list goes on and on. Not to mention the Trump election funding disparity. The Democrats have a lot more money! The battle at hand for Trump is David and Goliath to the power of 100.
