Be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self
— created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
So lay aside lying and each one of you speak truth with his neighbour,
for we are members of one another.
~ Ephesians 4:23-25 (TLV)
The way we think leads to what we say, and what we do or do not do. In these 37 Days Of Holiness, we are invited to enter more fully into our life in God. We were created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness — but this does not come naturally to us in this fallen world. In Ephesians 4, Paul teaches about many aspects of unholiness; he urges us to take these things off and to be renewed in our thinking. This is never a problem when we are in our prayer closet, but as we interact with each other, all kinds of problems arise; and even more fiercely as we interact with unbelievers!
However, Paul simply says: walk no longer as the pagans do in the futility of their thinking… he insists believers lay aside the old self, corrupted by its deceitful desires. We have a high calling to put on the new self, created to be like God, in true righteousness and holiness.
This is a daily walk with daily decisions to align ourselves to God’s holiness. When we stumble, we are to be quick to confess our sin, as we know He is faithful to forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we succeed in walking in holiness, and see the power of God in our midst as He answers our prayers, let us be humble and grateful, as the Lord has given us this grace!
The Lord has called us to these 37 Days of Holiness to realign His Holy Nation to be set apart and to think like Him, talk like Him, and to walk in His ways, which are holy and powerful! He is looking for a holy army who will stand and fight using the weapons of His warfare — Truth, Righteousness, Faith, Good News of Peace, Salvation, and the Word of God — these are mighty in God, and as we wear them in holiness in Christ, His mighty power goes forth, and we overcome!
Let us Pray:
Holy Heavenly Father, what grace abounds to us that we are called to holiness to be renewed in our minds to think like You. Lord, help us to grow in maturity and confidence to put off all our unholy thinking. We choose to put on renewed thinking in line with Your truth, Lord — that we are Your holy nation of believers wielding the Sword of the Spirit, Your Word, against everything that is corrupting our land.
Lord, teach us to arise as one in You, Yeshua, Christ Jesus, to move swiftly and powerfully against every form of darkness. Let Your people shine in the brilliance of Your light, as we fight for the lives of the unborn. Let Your light and truth confront the lower house MPs in South Australia who are focused on pushing the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020 through, when Parliament resumes on February 3rd 2021.
Lord, we look to You for miraculous intervention like You did with Saul on the road to Damascus. Lord, encounter those who are determined to push this bill that would result in destroying the unborn, even up to full term — the viable babies that are capable of living outside the womb. Lord, equip Your people with wisdom and faith, to listen and obey Your promptings and do Your will in these days.
We thank You for moving Your people to gather in the streets of Adelaide for the Walk for Life 2021 on February 6th. May we be one in You, Lord, and may the love we carry cause the state of South Australia to be shaken out of pride and foolishness and be awakened to righteousness; let there be a great move of repentance from the agreement of the shedding of innocent blood. We praise You, we bless You and honor Your Holy Name as we pray today, Yeshua, Jesus our Lord and King. Amen.
Abundant grace to you as we continue in prayer and fasting according to Mark 9:29 ~
He answered them, “This type of powerful spirit can only be cast out by fasting and prayer.”
Points for Prayer ~ pray for:
- South Australia’s Lower House politicians, that they be infused with truth and light for the sanctity of life – even of the unborn. Pray for a majority to vote no to this bill and take courage to defeat the Termination of Pregnancy Bill 2020 the week of Feb 3rd 2021.
- Those on the frontline preparing for the Walk for Life, February 6th 2021 in Adelaide, South Australia, for volunteers and marshalls, for no COVID before, during or after it.
- For our future generations to be rescued from the horror of death through abortion!
Let the spirit of adoption enter the hearts of those considering abortion,
to carry to full term and save their child’s life.
- For greater numbers of believers in Jesus all over Australia and the South Pacific region to awaken to the battle and stand for life — to rise up in wisdom and courage to take action needed and speak for the voiceless.
- For the church to become a haven of hope and help for those with unplanned pregnancies.
To send the intended influential message to our politicians
that South Australians DO NOT want legalised abortion up to birth,
we need thousands of people on the WALK for LIFE!
It will take each of us to SPREAD THE WORD through all our networks!
