Day 12: Souls! Souls! Souls!
Intention
For us to grasp the necessity of praying for souls
Scripture
“Then He said to His disciples, ‘The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few.’”
— Matthew 9:37
“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth and the life.
No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
— John 14:6
Reflection
I have always loved my Nation, even when I represented my Nation in tennis. I knew it as a Christian Nation in the 1960s–80s. We need to pray for this Nation.
Our prayers avail much. We are to cry out for souls — the heartbeat of the Father is souls! We are to pray for labourers to be released to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and for people’s hearts to be opened to the truth. We are all called to the ministry of reconciliation; we are called to give birth to souls.
In the early years of my Christian walk, I would cry out to the Father for souls, and I still do. I loved sharing the Gospel of Jesus, and I still do. I would get up in the night and look out over our city and plead the case for souls. I would see them as babies in my womb and cry out for them to be birthed. I would weep and travail for people to come to know Christ.
I never forgot Lester Sumrall — a great man of God — when he was seventeen years old and dying of tuberculosis. As he lay on his deathbed, he received a vision. Suspended in midair to the right of his bed was a coffin; on his left was a pulpit; he chose the pulpit; then he saw Japan and thousands of people falling over a cliff into hell. I have never forgotten him sharing that vision; it touched my heart, and we are to keep our hearts pure towards God and souls.
We are also to call repentance to the Nations. Jesus conquered the grave for all mankind. Conquered means: overcome, to take control of by military force.
We are the Father’s army on the earth. He has given His church His power and authority to call souls into His Kingdom. We are to take back what rightfully belongs to Christ (2 Cor 5:14).
Those who accept God’s forgiveness by faith and yield their lives to Jesus are born again and completely renewed from the inside out.
Jesus gave His life for all mankind. His blood was liquid love at Gethsemane; His sweat became blood; He saw the world through the cross, seated with Him in heavenly places. He cried out, “Father, not my will but your will”. We are to see those around us seated with us in heavenly places; we are to cry ‘mercy’. When we cry out for the lost our hearts become alive with His passion, revival fire ignites, and a hunger stirs to see our nation won to Jesus.
Through our prayers, the Holy Spirit lights fires in the hearts of people all over this nation.

Prayer
We thank You, Father.
We pull down the blindness over the peoples’ minds, over their ears and eyes that they may hear and see the light of the glorious Gospel, in Jesus’ Name.
We thank You, Father, that the labourers be released to go and bring in the harvest of souls into Your Kingdom, in Jesus’ Name.
We thank You Father that Your Holy Spirit brings the lost under conviction to see the light and power of Jesus Christ. We declare ‘Salvation to our Nation’.
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

“Pride” or “Gay-Affirming” Masses are unfortunately becoming quite commonplace, as the Church in Australia drifts further down the path of decline. The context of the "queer" Mass was particularly grievous because it had been promoted as an official event of Melbourne’s LGBTIQ+ Midsumma festival.
