Unity Together with Christ – Day 19
Focus
Shift the Nation: 24/7 Prayer 12–22 May 2023
Intention
To focus our attention on the One in whom we have unity.
Editor’s Note: The writer of this devotion is an Indigenous Christian leader who has deep concerns about the Voice. We thought it wise to allow her to share her concerns. Her cry for unity is profound.
Scripture
Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
– Romans 15:5–6
Reflection
In 2017 I received this picture from The Melting Heart conference at Uluru. I believe it is for this time as Perth will be holding the World Prayer Assembly and, we all know about the referendum to be held this year or in 2024 about the Voice in Parliament.
God is calling us to stand together as one and continue to stand on His Word. He has given us wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of what is happening in the world but especially here in Australia (Proverbs 2:6). We are called into one body, the body of Christ Jesus, and we are to strive for unity no matter what is happen and vote NO for the Voice.
We should dwell in the spirit of unity between believers. There should be no divisions or arguments among us. I know that the enemy is coming to try and destroy our rights and unity with one another. That one voice does not speak on behalf of me and/or my family.
Paul wrote to the Church at Ephesus, “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit – just as you were called to one hope when you were called” (Ephesians 4:1–4).
David said in the Psalms, “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1). This is because there is power in the unified body of Christ Jesus. When we are in singleness of mind then we are a force to be reckoned with. The opposite is also true, if there are fights and quarrelling among us then we keep ourselves out of service to the real battles in life.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father, I give thanks to you because your love endures forever. You created the world and everything in it in just a week. You set the seas in motion and planned our salvation from the very beginning. You are the ruler of heaven and earth.
Please change the attitudes of those that think having an Indigenous Voice in the Parliament is going to change things, and may they be more in unity for You. Help them to treat others with respect, honour, and unity. I seal this in the covenant blood of your Son, Yeshua, who gave us life and life more abundantly Amen.

The Word clearly tells us how to speak about leaders, and claiming that Jesus used insulting, coarse or even vulgar language when speaking about Herod is just an excuse for our own carnality.

Take away the history of a people or a culture or a nation, and you effectively take away the people, the culture, and the nation. We are today what has gone before in our past. Being unmoored from our own past makes us quite vulnerable.

We must redoube our commitment to the family – especially fathers – as a lynchpin of Christian training. Children who lack a stable sense that theirs is a Christian household are most vulnerable to drifting away from the Church.

There is a lot to learn about the number 5 from a Jewish and Biblical perspective. In March 2025, we will step into 5950 according to the Essenes. This is a Jubilee year – a year of double 5, double grace, double breath of the spirit to behold, a time when slaves are ordained to be set free.

Efforts to close the gap between Indigenous Australians and the rest of the country stalled during the failed Voice referendum, and the recent federal budget did not address the crisis as all governments promised to do.

The words that have been resounding in my spirit for months have been “sovereignly orchestrated” and “divine intervention”. Take courage. God can reach a dying individual and world.
Gloria, thank you for raising your voice on this precious matter of unity. The Lord can teach us all the simple lessons of respect, honour, and celebration of each other. My prayer is that the peoples of our land will hear the voice of the Lord.
It is a shame that the government spends money on TV ads to say ‘yes’ to the voice, but there is no campaign for the ‘no’ vote! However, Gloria, you have started one here in the Daily Declaration, thank you.
Thanks Gloria !! Excellent !!
Division is from the pit of hell and being used for political gains.
As we have shared many times, the voice will not solve one real world problem and will open the door wider for a godless Marxist agenda.
We bless you in all the good work you do in the community making real godly changes
Thanks dear sister.
Your voice for a righteous cause of unity is so valued.
We hear so many noises calling for division on racial lines.
How sad.
Your voice, a prophetic one is so appreciated.
Blessings.
