Jordan Peterson has been called the “the stupid man’s smart person”, and, one of my favorites, “a Messiah-cum-surrogate-dad for gormless dimwits”. Tiago Faleiro believes “He is the worst intellectual of our time”.

He is, according to the New York Times, “a patriarchal pseudointellectual, riding his devilish dark horse into stardom and corrupting everybody in his path, at best an idiot fraud and at worst, the most dangerous thinker in the West.”

I beg to differ. I have a lot of admiration for Jordan Peterson.

How about this priceless bit of parenting advice on how best to discipline children? “About the first principle, you might ask, Limit the rules to what, exactly? Here are some suggestions. Do not bite, kick or hit, except in self-defence. Do not torture and bully other children, so you don’t end up in jail.

Eat in a civilized and thankful manner, so that people are happy to have you at their house, and pleased to feed you. Learn to share, so other kids will play with you. Pay attention when spoken to by adults, so they don’t hate you and might therefore deign to teach you something. Go to sleep properly, and peaceably, so that your parents can have a private life and not resent your existence.

Take care of your belongings, because you need to learn how and because you’re lucky to have them. Be good company when something fun is happening, so that you’re invited for the fun. Act so that other people are happy you’re around, so that people will want you around. A child who knows these rules will be welcome everywhere.”

So who is Dr Jordan Peterson? He is a professor of psychology at the University of Toronto, a clinical psychologist and now worldwide media personality.

He has lectured to more than 250,000 people across North America, Europe and Australia.

Jordan Peterson videos, on YouTube, feature Dr. Peterson’s university and public lectures including a highly-viewed 15-part biblical series on Genesis.

Peterson has 1.8 million subscribers, with 90 million views. With all the pirated videos around, his work has been viewed multiple billions of times.

His original self-analysis program, the Self Authoring Suite, has helped over 200,000 people resolve the problems of their past and radically improve their future.

Well whatever the mainstream media establishment think about Jordan Peterson I like him.

1. He has humility and integrity and promotes integrous living. The fact that Jordan Peterson closed his Patreon account at his own cost because of their duplicity towards Sargon of Akkad, a fellow Youtuber, says it all. Albert Einstein said, “Try not to become men of success but men of value”. Jordan would echo to this, “What you aim at determines what you see”.
2. Jordan believes in personal responsibility: make your bed before you change the world. Jesus said, “Pull the log out of your own eye before you try to pull the speck out of your brother’s.”
3. Dr Peterson is taking a stand for truth as foundational and inarguable, and won’t back down. George Orwell said, “In a time of universal deceit telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”
4. I believe Jordan Peterson is truly compassionate towards people. He has helped a lot of people take charge of their lives and that is his goal.
5. Dr Peterson has taken a stand against political correctness and cultural Marxism. Jacques Barzun said, “Political correctness does not legislate tolerance; it only organizes hatred.”
6. Jordan is a family man. He supports mothers and fathers and is a great advocate for children. He is also passionate to turn the tide of fatherlessness. Andy Mineo said, “I think in today’s society we are dealing with an epidemic of fatherless homes.”
7. Dr Peterson supports the Judeo-Christian value system that is the underpinning of western civilization. He does not run from topics such as the reality of ‘Good and Evil’. Sydney Smith said, “It is the calling of great men, not so much to preach new truths, as to rescue from oblivion those old truths which it is our wisdom to remember and our weakness to forget.”

And yet Mr. Peterson, whilst he has high ideals is just as human as you and I.

When Pankaj Mishra writing for the New York Review insulted Jordan’s relationship with his native American friend Jordan said. “You arrogant, racist son of a bitch.” He even threated him with violence.

Jordan Peterson also threatened to sue a university professor in the USA for libel and defamation.

We are all mortal, we can all make mistakes we all fall short.

You see there is only one who is perfect and his name is Jesus, the Logos that Mr Peterson often speaks about in his lectures.

Jesus went about doing good and healing and sick and then the mainstream establishment put him on a cross.

They defamed his reputation with scorn, lies and hate and while the blood poured out of his hands and feet he prayed, “Father forgive them for they know not what they do.”

Yes, Mr Peterson still has to meet his maker. We all do, but in the meantime, I am very thankful for Jordan Peterson’s courageous stand for truth.

I just pray he does not end up on a cross.
