Urgent Call to Pray for Rain Supported by Prime Minister & Hillsong Conference
The team at the Daily Declaration invite you to join with many churches across Australia praying for an end to the drought this Sunday and in the coming weeks. We need to see a breakthrough for our farmers and for our nation. Many country towns in eastern Australia are on emergency water restrictions like Warwick in Queensland. The same water restrictions are about to happen in Dubbo and Tamworth.
The president of Australian Christian Churches (ACC) Ps Wayne Alcorn has challenged the churches of Australia to support this prayer call. In a prayer letter appeal to churches he highlighted this moving video from Pastor David Jackson about the drought.
Billy Graham said, “To get nations back on their feet, we must first get down on our knees.” Mother Teresa said, “God shapes the world by prayer. The more praying there is in the world the better the world will be, the mightier the forces against evil.”
The below video of Hillsong conference praying for an end to the drought is really worth the watch.

Not only that, but Ps Brian Houston made prayer for rain both to break the drought and spiritual rain to bring revival and transformation to the our nation — the central theme for the Hillsong conference at the Sydney Qudos Bank Arena from 9-12 July 2019.
History was made on Friday morning on the 12 July 2019 at the Hillsong Conference, when for the first time in 34 years a whole session was given for the cause of prayer for individual, family, church, nation, revival, drought and national transformation.
The words of Jesus came to pass that morning, when Jesus quoted Jeremiah in Matthew 21:13, “My house shall be called a house of prayer.”
Perhaps this momentous moment is a sign that Jesus Christ is again building His church on the foundations of prayer and the ministry of the word, as it says in Acts 6:4, “The apostles gave themselves to prayer and the Ministry of the word.”
Charles Spurgeon in a devotion quoted Leviticus 6:13, “The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out.” And then he said,
“Keep the altar of private prayer burning. This is the very life of all piety. The sanctuary and family altars borrow their fires here, there- fore let this burn well. Secret devotion is the very essence, evidence, and barometer, of vital and experimental religion.
Burn here the fat of your sacrifices. Let your closet seasons be, if possible, regular, frequent, and undisturbed. Effectual prayer availeth much.
Have you nothing to pray for? Let us suggest the Church, the ministry, your own soul, your children, your relations, your neighbours, your country, and the cause of God and truth throughout the world. Let us examine ourselves on this important matter.
Do we engage with lukewarmness in private devotion? Is the fire of devotion burning dimly in our hearts? Do the chariot wheels drag heavily? If so, let us be alarmed at this sign of decay.
Let us go with weeping, and ask for the Spirit of grace and of supplications. Let us set apart special seasons for extraordinary prayer.
For if this fire should be smothered beneath the ashes of a worldly conformity, it will dim the fire on the family altar, and lessen our influence both in the Church and in the world.”

The Hillsong Conference ending featured a faith-filled presentation of worship and prayer for the rain.
Even the Prime Minister Scott Morrison opened the Hillsong Conference by praying for an end to the drought, which is still afflicting the greater part of eastern and central Australia.

Ps Wayne Alcorn said, “Let us commit to stand together in faith and unity in our Sunday services on July 14, and believe that we, the people of God, can be the answer and bring hope.”
As it says in Isaiah 58:11,12:
“The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; You shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail. Those from among you shall build the old waste places; You shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called the Repairer of the Breach, the Restorer of streets to dwell in.”
Thank God for your continued prayers. God is most definitely at work in our nation. The call for more prayer is being amplified across the body of Christ like never before across the nation of Australia.
So let us join together with our Prime Minister and key national Church leaders, and give thanks for the breaking of the drought both physically and spiritually in Jesus’ Name.
