Pro-Life Prayer Day 5: Speak Up
Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves;
ensure justice for those being crushed.
Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless,
and see that they get justice.”
~ Proverbs 31:8-9 NLT
A testimony from a former café owner within one proposed “Exclusion Zone” in SA –
“A young African girl, ‘Sara’, walked into my cafe to ask directions to the abortion clinic. After a friendly conversation, I gave literature on pregnancy support and my mobile number. One hour later, she rang to thank me for the information and to say she had decided to keep her baby. I drove her to Genesis Pregnancy Support (12 minutes by car from Cafe Latino). During the pregnancy, she came to the cafe often for company.

A friend and I took ‘Sara’ for an interview at St Joseph’s School, Regency Road, for pregnant girls. She was accepted into St Joseph’s to complete her final two years of schooling, and found it excellent scholastic support.
In August that year, Sara’s baby girl was born. I visited them at home, with needed baby goods. Sara comes to visit the cafe with her baby regularly (once with her social worker). Her boyfriend has been several times also. She knows she is very welcome to spend time at the cafe with her baby.”
Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You.
~ Jeremiah 32:17 NKJV
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You that You have given us voices, and that we are born for such a time as this, to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Thank You for the gift of prayer.
Lord, we ask that You raise up the united voice of truth and justice that will be heard by those who have been given power to create legislation in South Australia.
We ask, Lord, for freedom of speech in any place at any time — especially for those who are called and who are willing to go to the places where women have abortions.
Encourage all who silently pray or speak to those who want to hear about help for them and their child; we ask You to bless them abundantly and reward their labours with many babies rescued.
Lord, give to Your people, including righteous politicians, courage, boldness and wisdom to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves. Lord, let Your truth be released and resound in the parliamentary debate, so that politicians will not be influenced by speeches and statements that are simply not the truth.
Lord, we thank You for the angels assigned to these little ones to move on behalf of the unborn; as Your people pray, let them be rescued today and every day! In Yeshua‘s powerful and precious Name, Amen.
Prayer Points:
- Miraculous intervention to stop the Health Care (Safe Access) Amendment Bill 2020 (Exclusion Zones Bill).
- We pray, at the very least, that the following Bill Amendments be passed —
- Allowance of silent prayer.
- Written offers of assistance (signage) to persons entering protected premises displayed by a person who is at least 20 metres away from the entrance to protected premises.
- The normal course of day-to-day business, by any business — charity or religious organisation, which was located in a health access zone before the commencement of the Act or a Zone, be allowed to continue to operate.
** On Wednesday, 22 July 2020, the SA Lower House will debate and possibly vote on the Health Care (Safe Access) Amendment Bill 2020.
The Bill will establish 70,000-square-metre zones in at least 12 areas (possibly more) in South Australia, where it will be against the law to communicate about abortion in a way that can be seen and heard by those entering or leaving a place where abortions are carried out.
As it stands, this Bill will:
- ban silent prayer;
- stop those who want to offer pregnancy support to women who do not want to have an abortion, but do so as they feel they have no alternative;
- affect the freedom to communicate publicly about abortion in large areas of SA.
Proposed Amendments (vital to maintain for SA if the Bill were to pass)
Write to MPs asking them to not support the Bill in its current form, and to vote for key amendments such as allowing silent prayer, offers of help, and preserving the rights of organisations which were in zones before they commenced operation.
More details for taking action can be found on the ACL website.

The Church is wimpy, and it's destroying the nation. That's the blunt assessment of Rev. Chris Wickland, a UK clergyman who refuses to soften the gospel for perceived cultural acceptance. And he has a point. From the rise of "woke" institutional Christianity to the abdication of prophetic witness, the modern Church has traded its backbone for a desperate attempt to attain a disappearing seat at the table.
